About the Role

As a Community Health Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients' independence and ability to stay at home. You will work as part of a dynamic team of Nurses and LPNs to provide home support services, assisting with personal care and daily living activities while promoting maximum independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting clients with activities of daily personal care, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene
  • Providing household duties related to maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
  • Preparing meals in accordance with designated plans
  • Assisting with mobility and transfers
  • Observing and reporting changes in client behavior and condition
  • Performing delegated tasks according to training and procedures

Location: The Shuswap Community Care Health Services in Salmon Arm, B.C.

Shifts: Shifts of work will be scheduled on days, evenings, nights on a rotational basis.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Grade 12
  • Graduation from a recognized Resident Care Aide/Home Support Worker Program, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience
  • BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker registry
  • Current valid BC Drivers' License and use of a reliable vehicle
