About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our team at South Valley Residence, a premier community in Valleyview, Alberta. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional resident-focused care in a home-like environment, respecting the dignity and individual needs of each resident and their families.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Provide personalized care to residents, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other personal hygiene activities.
  • Establish effective communication with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure the physical, psychological, and social needs of residents are met.
  • Participate in all aspects of personal resident care, including serving meals, feeding, and providing nourishment supplements as needed.
  • Respond promptly to resident call bells, telephone ringing, and assist colleagues in need of help.
  • Assist with activities that promote resident choice and independence, such as assisting with daily routines and providing emotional support.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the care and services provided to residents.
  • Contribute to a facility environment that prioritizes resident confidentiality and maintains a safe and secure environment for all.

Requirements:

  • Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • CPR/BCLS certification for healthcare providers.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, organization, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
  • Ability to problem solve through critical thinking and adapt to changing situations.
