Your Opportunity:

At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a skilled Therapy Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team at the Valleyview Hospital. As a Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other Allied Health Disciplines to provide high-quality rehabilitation services to patients across the healthcare continuum.

Description:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, supporting patients in Acute Care, Long Term Care, Outpatient, and the DSL clients in South Valley Lodge. You will work closely with two Physiotherapists and one Occupational Therapist, as well as the Recreational team, to achieve patient goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care.
  • Work effectively with internal and external partners to achieve patient goals.
  • Display professionalism and strong ethics in client-centered care and participation in care teams.
  • Demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning to enhance individual and team competency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training.
  • PTA, OTA, or combined PTA/OTA diploma is required.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative skills are essential.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office, and experience with electronic charting are required.
  • BCLS-HCP is required.
