Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to join our team. This role requires a strong commercial insurance background, with a focus on delivering exceptional client service and building lasting relationships with underwriters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to clients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain professional relationships with underwriters, facilitating new business placements and renewal negotiations.
  • Collaborate with management on various projects and initiatives, leveraging your analytical and organizational skills.
  • Train and mentor junior staff members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Exercise authority to approve junior staff work when necessary, demonstrating leadership and accountability.
  • Prepare new and renewal quotations, adhering to department guidelines and industry standards.
  • Negotiate and bind coverage with insurers, applying department guidelines and best practices.
  • Process policies, certificates, and correspondence, maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines.
  • Pursue special projects as assigned, showcasing adaptability and initiative.
  • Assist in managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Work closely with management to identify new business opportunities and client growth potential.
  • Contribute to departmental efficiency improvements, analyzing processes and implementing changes where necessary.
  • Participate in industry events and customer visits, enhancing professional networks and staying up-to-date on industry developments.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial insurance, with a strong understanding of Canadian regulations and market trends.
  • Holding a valid RIBO license and maintaining current continuing education requirements.
  • Exceptional client service skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships and deliver results-driven solutions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and exceeding expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with colleagues, underwriters, and clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and negotiate confidently.
  • Able to multitask, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with a working knowledge of industry-specific software applications.
  • Experience with Applied Epic is considered an asset, but not mandatory.

Salary Estimate:

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
