Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Convention Development Manager to join our team at Destination Vancouver. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who is passionate about promoting Vancouver as a top meeting and convention destination in Canadian and international markets.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to attract new business and increase revenue from the Canadian and International Association markets.
  • Lead the development of marketing plans and campaigns to promote Vancouver's meeting and convention offerings, including trade shows, conferences, and events.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, including hotels, venues, and attractions, to ensure seamless delivery of event experiences.
  • Maintain relationships with key industry partners and associations to stay informed about market trends and opportunities.
  • Manage a team of sales professionals and provide coaching and guidance to ensure achievement of sales targets and goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sales or business development, preferably in the destination marketing, hotel, or convention industry.
  • Proven track record of attaining measurable goals and results in a sales capacity.
  • Strong innovative and creative outlook for sales and business development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on collaboration and building positive relationships.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
