Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team at GAV MGMT. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for creating accurate and timely quotes that meet the needs of our customers while being profitable for the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze architectural plans and specifications to determine the type and quantity of materials required for audio video installations.
  • Establish take offs and material breakdown sheets to ensure accurate quotes.
  • Formulate detailed quotes for project design materials, using knowledge of standard company pricing, discounts, and estimating formulas.
  • Process revisions and change orders as required, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Verify feasibility of special conditions with various departments and recommend cost-effective and profitable quoting strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation to support quotes and collaborate with the Drafting Team on changes and adjustments.
  • Partner with the Project Management team to adjust quotes on awarded projects based on job re-works.
  • Organize and plan work efficiently to meet daily and weekly productivity goals and meet tender close dates and project deadlines.
Requirements
  • One or more years of experience in the A/V field in an installation or field-engineering capacity.
  • A post-secondary education in Architectural Technology, Construction Estimator, or related field.
  • One to three years of estimating experience and proficiency with estimating software, tools, and MS Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience reading architectural designs, schedules, take offs, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building effective relationships with clients, team members, and contractors.
  • Strong client focus, proactive, and a desire to achieve results, with excellent attention to quality, accuracy, and details.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot to provide solutions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating with diverse individuals to accomplish stated objectives.
