Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Test Lead to lead our Mainframe Upgrade project. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Quality Engineering and experience in managing large-scale testing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Implement Test Strategy: Identify, prepare, and plan the test strategy/approach to test business, infrastructure, and batch processing applications during a Mainframe Upgrade.
  2. Coordinate Testing Activities: Coordinate, perform, or lead UAT, Business, and E2E testing activities.
  3. Provide Support for Performance Testing: Provide support for Performance testing and ensure that all testing activities are completed on time.
  4. Communicate with Stakeholders: Communicate and plan with development teams and stakeholders to ensure that all testing activities are aligned with business objectives.
  5. Track and Analyze Testing Progress: Track and analyze QE testing progress and provide analysis & metrics on the QE effort.
  6. Log and Track Defects: Log and track detailed product defects and support the RCA identification.
  7. Coach and Mentor Testing Team: Coach and provide mentorship to the testing team and not afraid to get hands dirty.
  8. Single Point of Contact: Be the single point of contact for all Testing related activities.

Requirements:

  1. At least 12+ years of work experience in Quality Engineering (Testing) in IT.
  2. Canadian Banking domain experience.
  3. Leading and managing testing large-scale, complex Mainframe applications and migration/upgrade projects.
  4. Coordinating with Product, Infrastructure, Technical teams, Stakeholders, Executives, etc.
  5. Working in a matrix organization.
  6. Stakeholder management across multiple areas such as Business, Infrastructure, Network, IT Custodians, Development, etc.

Preferred Skills:

  1. In-depth knowledge in testing Mainframe related applications using Cobol, DB2, SQL, JCL, VSAM, LPAR, CICS, Job schedulers such as Control-D/M, CA7; Banking applications.
  2. Experience in testing various Mainframe application screens.
  3. Experience in strategizing Mainframe (hardware) upgrade and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) testing.
  4. Exposure to Unix/Linux, Shell scripting.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, communication skills.
  6. Proactive in identifying gaps and raising issues.
  7. Knowledge in GUI/Web application testing.
