About the Role

GOURMET CARLETON PLACE INC is seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our restaurant operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our food service staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Food Service Staff
    • Lead and motivate a team of food service staff to achieve exceptional customer service and quality standards.
    • Coordinate the preparation and portioning of food, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Train and Develop Staff
    • Provide comprehensive training to new staff members on job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
    • Continuously develop and improve staff skills to enhance customer satisfaction and quality standards.
  • Inventory Management and Control
    • Estimate and manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
    • Monitor and maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Customer Service and Quality Control
    • Ensure that food and service meet high quality control standards, addressing customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
    • Prepare and submit reports on customer feedback and quality control metrics.
  • Team Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and check the assembly of trays, ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
    • Lead and motivate a team of 5-10 food service staff, including food and beverage servers, food service counter attendants, and food preparers.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
    • 1-2 years of experience in food service management or a related field.
  • Work Environment and Conditions
    • Fast-paced environment with high pressure to meet customer demands.
    • Standing for extended periods, walking, and attention to detail required.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on customer satisfaction and quality standards.
