Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Commercial Financial Services to join our team. As a key member of our commercial lending team, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end credit relationship for a defined portfolio of clients, with a focus on loan origination and ongoing portfolio quality oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional business, financial, and credit advice to support their growth and success.
  • Collaborate with client relationship managers to prepare and present credit pitches that clearly articulate the benefits of proposed credit solutions.
  • Steward the relationship management of complex credit client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for all credit opportunities, inquiries, and escalations.
  • Manage all aspects of the credit approval process, including commitments committee and GRM, developing strong working relationships with National Office personnel and risk managers.
  • Actively develop, strengthen, and deepen client relationships, engaging with key RBC partners, including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, and Corporate Client Group.
  • Exercise due diligence in recommending credit applications, working in collaboration with Risk Management to find the appropriate mix of credit risk and structural mitigants.
  • Maintain portfolio quality oversight through proactive portfolio management, including annual credit renewals, covenant monitoring, and control.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in financial and credit analysis, with a minimum of three years' experience in commercial lending at a major financial institution.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, as well as experience with emerging resources, communications, and technology.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail in both written work and financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to perform well under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
