About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Indigenous Liaison Specialist to join our team at NAIT. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the growth and development of our Indigenous student population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional support services to Indigenous students, including academic advising, career counseling, and personal guidance.
  • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to increase Indigenous student recruitment and retention rates.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to promote Indigenous cultural awareness and understanding.
  • Represent NAIT on panels and award selection committees to promote Indigenous student success.
  • Build relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations to foster partnerships and collaborations.
  • Support the development and implementation of Indigenous student programs and services.
  • Perform administrative duties, including data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a related field, such as Native Studies or Education.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Indigenous student services, education, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful programs and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cultural competency skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
