Reports to: Hummingbird Lodge & Campground Supervisor

Employment Status/Type: Full-time, Seasonal (Nov-April)

Compensation: $ (DOE) alongside further employee perks and benefits.

Job Summary:

As a key member of the Hummingbird Lodge team, the Team Lead will oversee and maintain all aspects of accommodation and services, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and efficient resort operations. In the absence of the Supervisor, the Team Lead will take charge of day-to-day operations, including accommodations, services, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Embody and promote Whitewater's mission statement and values.
  • Foster a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to emergency response plans, health and safety protocols, and sustainable practices.
  • Assist in kitchen operations when needed.
  • Manage reservations, point of contact for camping, RV parking, and suite-related matters.
  • Work with the janitor team to maintain the suite's cleanliness.
  • Order and maintain inventories for housekeeping products and suite supplies.
  • Address maintenance issues and report them to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure effective waste management and pest control.
  • Manage rental inventory, including equipment setup and guest assistance.
  • Be knowledgeable about Backcountry Education courses and create a welcoming environment for the backcountry community.
  • Participate in staff training and act as Supervisor of the Day, overseeing operations, risk management, and associated regulations.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors and managers to ensure resort standards are met.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience.
  • Kitchen experience an asset.
  • Previous backcountry or remote lodge experience an asset.
  • Strong administrative capabilities, including Microsoft Office suite applications and electronic file management.
  • Serving it Right certification.
  • Food Safe 1 certification an asset.
