Division Head of Infectious Diseases

The Department of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Division Head of Infectious Diseases. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned academic and clinical leader to join our team and contribute to the advancement of medical research and education.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Division of Infectious Diseases, ensuring alignment with the Department's mission and vision.
  • Collaborate with the administrative lead to develop and implement strategic plans, drive clinical and organizational excellence, and improve accountability for performance and outcomes.
  • Lead a team of 16 full-time and 10 part-time academics, promoting a culture of excellence in research, education, and patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the Division's success and growth.
  • Represent the Division and the Department in various internal and external forums, fostering partnerships and collaborations.
Qualifications
  • Hold an MD degree and be eligible for membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
  • Have or be eligible for certification in Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Have or be eligible for licensure in Ontario.
  • Demonstrate academic and clinical leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to building on the current academic successes of the Division.
