Division Head of Rheumatology

The Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a visionary leader to head its Division of Rheumatology. As a renowned academic and clinical leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of 12 full-time and four part-time academic rheumatologists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong mentorship to trainees and faculty at all stages of their career
  • Help strengthen research capacity within the division
  • Promote high-quality patient-centred care
  • Lead the division in its mission to innovate, support, and practice the highest quality patient-centred care, research, and education
Requirements:
  • Be a nationally/internationally respected leader and scholar
  • Demonstrate academic and clinical excellence
  • Have advanced interpersonal skills
  • Be a member of, or be eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association
  • Have, or be eligible for certification in Rheumatology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
  • Hold or be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or above at the University of Ottawa
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Be a bilingual (French/English) candidate
