Position Summary:

The Department of Medicine at The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and visionary leader to serve as the Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to lead a dynamic team of clinicians, researchers, and educators in the field of infectious diseases.


Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic and clinical leadership to the Division, working closely with the Chair/Head of the Department of Medicine to achieve the mission, vision, and goals of the Department, the Hospital, and the Faculty. This includes strategic planning, overall performance, engagement, quality, operations, budget, capital, and service planning.

The Division Head will also be responsible for ensuring that the Division's vision and goals are aligned with those of the Department, the Hospital, and the Faculty, and that the Division is contributing to the overall success of these organizations.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and collaborator, with excellent leadership and management skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, educators, and administrative staff.


Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, with a minimum of an Associate Professor rank, and a proven track record of academic and clinical leadership. They will also have excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association, and will have or be eligible for certification in Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. They will also have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario.
