Job Title: Community Navigator

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Navigator to join our team at the Manitoba Métis Federation. As a Community Navigator, you will provide support, advocacy, and community navigation for Métis Citizens in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and connect Métis Citizens with social, medical, economic, recreational, and educational services in the community;
  • Recognize potential crisis and emergency situations and develop strategies to address them;
  • Collaborate with other professionals to develop client program plans;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies, professionals, government officials, and the community;
  • Assist Métis Citizens in overcoming barriers to accessing resources;
  • Assist in preparing project budgets and provide input to management on program development and evaluation;
  • Encourage and facilitate the participation of individuals in the program.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Social or Health Science, Social Work, Social Service, or relevant field;
  • Experience in community outreach work, community support, advocacy, and community navigation;
  • Experience in program development and facilitation, reporting, and case management;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and Indigenous community is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Métis culture, MMF programs, and services is a definite asset;
  • Ability to travel and valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
