Job Title: Community Outreach Worker

Mount Carmel Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Outreach Worker to join our team. As a key member of our outreach team, you will play a vital role in providing early intervention and support services to women involved in the sex trade.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide empathetic first response street level engagement through outreach services
  • Offer referrals and transitions to other services
  • Build and consolidate partnerships with stakeholders
  • Provide preventative activities such as education in the community
  • Staff the drop-in and attend all programs and department staff meetings
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in community, preferably with program target population
  • Experience providing outreach with hard to reach population
  • Proven knowledge and ability in relationship-building, critical thinking, facilitation, decision-making, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in a Social Services field
  • Applicants with lived or living experience in the sex trade work are encouraged to self-declare on their resume
