Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer, a part of the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Oncology Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care: Assist with examinations, procedures, and daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams: Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Maintain patient records: Accurately document patient information, appointments, and treatment plans, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Contribute to a safe environment: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to infection control and safety protocols to prevent errors and ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in professional development: Engage in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with the latest medical practices and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Education and licensure: Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives.
  • Communication and teamwork: Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Physical capabilities: Physical capability to perform nursing duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
