Job Title: Employment and Income Assistance Counsellor

The Manitoba Government is seeking a skilled and compassionate Employment and Income Assistance Counsellor to join our team. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families in need, helping them to access the resources and services they require to achieve stability and independence.

About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As an EIA Counsellor, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing the needs of participants and determining their eligibility for benefits
  • Providing counselling and support to help participants achieve their goals
  • Connecting participants with community resources and services
  • Working collaboratively with other departments and agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting participants
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Post-secondary education in the social services field
  • Related case management experience, including conducting interviews and providing supportive counselling
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Outlook)
