About the Role

The Manitoba Government is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Employment and Income Assistance Counsellor to join our team of social services professionals. As an EIA Counsellor, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals and families in need, providing guidance and resources to help them achieve independence and self-sufficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized plans to address their unique challenges and goals
  • Provide supportive counselling and connect clients with relevant resources and services
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and community organizations to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to client support
  • Conduct thorough assessments and make informed decisions regarding client eligibility for benefits and services
  • Develop and implement effective case management plans to help clients achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in the social services field, such as a degree or diploma in social work, psychology, or a related field
  • Related case management experience, including conducting interviews, providing supportive counselling, and performing assessments and service coordination
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a high-volume caseload and competing demands
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications
  • Excellent French verbal and written communication skills (required for designated bilingual positions)
