Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Medical Radiation Technologist to join our Medical Imaging Team. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for performing Computed Tomography and X-ray imaging procedures in accordance with departmental policies, protocols, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Procedures: Produce high-quality CT and X-ray images to meet departmental standards.
  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional patient care for Emergency Department, Unit, and Outpatients.
  • Reporting: Prepare written and electronic reports to document procedures and test results.
  • Work Flow: Organize and prioritize work flow to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with patient care units, physicians, external departments, and other imaging modalities.
  • Quality Control: Participate in QC and QA programs as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are functioning properly.
  • Education and Training: Contribute to teaching, training, educational research, safety, and quality improvement programs/activities.
  • Policies and Procedures: Observe and understand organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Provide input for designing imaging policies and procedures resulting in improvements in technical quality.
  • Confidentiality: Adhere to organizational and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care and cross-functional responsibilities as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an approved training program in Radiography.
  • Registration: Current registration and in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Competencies: Must have the knowledge, skills, and judgment as identified in the CMRTO "Essential Competencies" to perform the services and procedures that fall within the scope of practice of the profession.
  • Skills: Ability to organize work, set priorities, manage time effectively, and produce accurate results while working autonomously or as a team player.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills.
  • Service Excellence: Committed to service excellence while meeting the patient/staff needs efficiently.
  • Leadership: Demonstrates excellent leadership qualities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills.
  • Conflict Management: Ability to handle stress and conflict management in a professional, effective manner.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Employment Record: Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CT training preferred. CT Imaging courses would be an asset.
