Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Halton Healthcare. This role will be responsible for assisting with various clerical functions, including patient reception and registration, order entry, and communication with physicians, staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff
  • Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and billing
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as required
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services
Requirements
  • Office administration diploma from a recognized college or recent relevant clerical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience in Diagnostic Imaging is an asset
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a comparable position
  • Medical terminology certificate is required
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Minimum of 30 wpm typing speed
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Experience using patient-related databases, such as Meditech
  • Ability to prioritize workload and function independently in a busy environment
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Able to diplomatically respond to inquiries from staff, volunteers, patients, family members, and members of the general public
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to perform the job requirements, including prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and pushing and pulling various equipment
