Treasury Consulting Director

At Equitable Bank, we are seeking a seasoned Treasury Consulting Director to lead our team in providing expert Treasury Consulting and Asset Liability Management (ALM) solutions to our credit union clients across Canada.

About the Role

This leadership role is responsible for delivering Treasury Consulting and ALM solutions, including Balance Sheet Management and Interest Rate Risk Management. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the financial services industry, including provincial and federal regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized knowledge in interest rate risk management and asset liability management to credit union clients
  • Communicate key interest rate risk metrics and strategies to senior credit union management for effective balance sheet management
  • Identify significant interest rate risk levels and develop strategies to reduce interest rate risk while maximizing net interest margin
  • Build and foster strong long-term strategic relationships with credit union clients
  • Develop and implement pricing and product specifications for the LOC product
  • Oversee credit underwriting to ensure the Bank is following strong credit practices
Requirements
  • Sophisticated knowledge of the financial services industry and the co-operative system
  • Working knowledge of Bank products, services, corporate and business unit strategies, and marketplace positioning
  • Sophisticated knowledge of financial principles and financial modeling as it pertains to interest rate risk, liquidity, capital, and profitability
  • Exceptional skills in building and maintaining relationships with credit union clients
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Finance/Commerce/Business Administration is required
  • A professional designation in the financial field is required
