Inventory Control Specialist

About the Job:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented professional to join our team at Goose Lake Project in Nunavut. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will oversee daily material transactions, track inventory, store and input raw materials into and out of project inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve the effectiveness of inventory and materials/product invoices for Culinary, Housekeeping, Janitorial, Commissary, and other areas.
- Organize and maintain storage areas and inventory.
- Analyze the accuracy of purchase orders, invoices of material/products and inventory transactions.
- Communicate potential inventory product issues to the Executive Chef, Lodge Manager, and Purchasing to avoid material shortages.
- Ensure all products are stored using FOODSAFE and Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) methods and by Horizon North safety guidelines.
- Organize and lead daily, weekly, and monthly inventory cycle counts, followed by inventory balance discrepancy analysis.
- Place orders for products and materials.
- Foster effective day-to-day operational objectives and efficiency.
- Document and prepare reports for material/product additions and returns for each location/storage area.
- Manage Commissary operations daily.
- Place orders for materials through the supplier website.
Requirements:
- A culinary background is required.
- Strong analytical skills and techniques.
- Able to input, retrieve, and analyze data.
- Dedication to efficient task completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to demonstrate organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills.
- Manage fluctuating workloads and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office, GFS knowledge would be considered an asset.
