Job Summary

As a Senior Commercial Markets Leader at RBC, you will be responsible for leading and coaching a team of relationship management specialists to deliver exceptional client experiences and drive business growth. You will work closely with the Commercial Financial Services team to develop and execute strategic business priorities, focusing on delivering a highly differentiated client experience and value proposition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of relationship management specialists to maintain a balance of sales results, portfolio profitability, and strong client relationships.

  • Play an active role in relationship management of the most complex client relationships, working closely with the Commercial Financial Services team.

  • Work in close partnership with CFS Finance and Group Risk Management to support client credit needs, remaining actively engaged in all opportunities from identification to funding.

  • Lead and ensure a strong culture of risk management and compliance is in place, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and ensuring all team members are aware of and adhere to regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and maintain strong practice management routines with the SCM Client Relationship Team and partner routines with Mid-Market Commercial to ensure alignment of the right expertise and capability to each client relationship.

  • Collaborate with leaders across RBC to bring the best of RBC to businesses, business owners, and their employees, maintaining a strong market presence and attending industry and client events.

  • Ensure strong talent management routines are in place, including training and development plans for each relationship manager, and maintain an active and diverse pipeline of talent to meet future team requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong sales leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving business growth and delivering exceptional client experiences.

  • Strong business development skills, with the ability to develop and maintain a strong network of external partners and centers of influence.

  • Minimum five years' experience in large commercial credit ($5MM+), with a deep understanding of financial and credit analysis.

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance, with strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze company financial statements.

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Proven track record in financial and credit analysis, with the ability to provide guidance and advice to clients on complex financial matters.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience and comfort with emerging technology, including video conferencing, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA and/or CFA, with a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.

  • Experience managing remote teams, with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
