About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering CAD Designer to join our team in Kitchener, ON. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and developing municipal infrastructure projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design municipal infrastructure projects, including road reconstruction, land development, stormwater management, and site plan design.
  • Surveying and Inspection: Conduct topographic surveys using GPS and total station equipment, and inspect construction sites as needed.
  • Project Management: Work with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Quality Control: Ensure data quality and integrity, and undertake quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare civil design drawings, design calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates for civil projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent)
  • Experience: 2+ years of related experience in municipal civil engineering CAD/design
  • Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation; experience with surface grading, watermain, sewer pipe networks, and detailed design
  • Certifications: Certified or eligible for certification as a C.E.T. and a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists
Preferred Qualifications
  • Civil 3D Experience: Experience with Civil 3D 2016 to current versions
  • GIS and Scanning Technology: Experience working with GIS data and scanning technology (LIDAR, photogrammetry, etc.) and point clouds
  • Construction Inspection: Experience with construction inspection and quality control procedures
