About the Role

The Senior Civil Designer will work closely with the Project Engineer/Project Manager to deliver projects on time and to the highest standard.

  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and perform calculations for land development projects.
  • Assist in quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and specification preparation for projects.
  • Perform civil design using knowledge of relevant software programs and work with other engineering disciplines to complete projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete functional and detailed design of sites, grading, servicing, and water/wastewater layout on projects.
  • Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Assist with engineering duties on projects of varying complexity and collect data to support design decisions.
  • Analyze proposed project solutions to ensure design integrity, reliability, resource efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and understanding of civil engineering design concepts and municipal standards.
  • Ability to participate in project teams, engage in creative and critical thought, and interpret sketches, drawings, and building programs.
  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate in Civil Engineering or related field and minimum of 5 years of experience in a Civil Designer role.
