About the Role

AECOM is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering CAD Designer to join our team in Kitchener, ON. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and developing municipal infrastructure projects using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop municipal infrastructure projects, including road reconstruction, land development, and stormwater management
  • Work with surveying equipment, including GPS and total station, to collect and analyze data
  • Collaborate with other CAD and GIS technical staff to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Prepare civil design drawings and design calculations, as well as quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed documentation for design projects and reports
Requirements
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of related experience in municipal civil engineering CAD/design
  • Design experience with surface grading, watermain, sewer pipe networks, and detailed design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience with surveying equipment, including GPS and total station
  • Certified or eligible for certification as a C.E.T. and a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists
Preferred Qualifications
  • Civil 3D 2016 to current versions
  • Bentley Microstation V8i
  • Experience creating base plans from collected survey data
  • Experience working with GIS data
  • Experience working with scanning technology (LIDAR, photogrammetry, etc.) and point clouds
