Job Summary
The TEP GROUP is seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement civil design solutions for various projects
- Prepare and modify drawings, specifications, and other technical documents
- Monitor work compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and TEP GROUP standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and other relevant software
- Telecommunication experience is an asset
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to work in Canada
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrate focus on accuracy and high attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills: ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed-upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively
- Strong project management skills: ability to organize applicable department timelines and follow up with internal and external customer needs as needed
- Self-motivated, able to work both independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests as well as collaborating with others to utilize resources and knowledge in identifying high-quality solutions
- Ability to work with functional groups and different levels of employees throughout the organization to effectively and professionally achieve business results
- Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors
- Proficient with computer software programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Adhere to all company and industry standard/regulations/safety practices
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The TEP GROUP offers a hybrid office environment with a minimum of three days in the office. Work is performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment.
