Job Summary:

As a Transportation Assistant at First Student Canada-Transco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe transportation of students and passengers. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide operational oversight and day-to-day management of routes
Assist drivers in safe operation of routes
Monitor the welfare of passengers while in route
Communicate behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver
Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
Assist students in the loading and unloading process
Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, students, and parents
Attend all safety and training meetings
Conduct emergency evacuation from the bus, including use of exiting by emergency door

Requirements:

Good verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Early morning availability
Judgement/problem solving skills
Ability to manage high degrees of stress
