At the City of Vancouver, we are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Transportation Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time position with an estimated salary of $84,000 - $106,000 per year.

About the Job

This role plays a crucial part in helping us implement our transportation plans and policies. As a Strategic Transportation Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing research, analysis, and communications support for various projects related to transportation planning.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • You will provide research and analysis support for transportation-related projects, including corridor planning studies, data analysis, and visualization.
  • You will develop plans, presentations, maps, and data visualization graphics for Council reports, public engagement, and internal communications.
  • You will handle public inquiries both verbally and in writing, as well as document and analyze public requests using the City's internal applications.
  • You will liaise with staff from various divisions and departments, including Planning, Engineering, and Sustainability, as well as external stakeholders when necessary.
  • You will provide data analysis support, including the use of GIS data, for corridor planning and alignment options review and other projects as required.
  • You will create graphical corridor cross-section options and evaluate them against each other.
  • You will collect, organize, analyze, and interpret transportation and land-use data.
  • You will provide support in analyzing and prioritizing transportation networks.
  • You may attend occasional public events outside of regular work hours.
  • You will perform other technical office and field work duties, such as site visits, as required.
  • You will support the branch by compiling and analyzing various data spreadsheets and managing the photo library.
  • You may assist in coordinating logistics for engagement activities, including organizing and participating in public meetings, preparing mailing lists and public notifications, coordinating logistics, and preparing informational and graphic material.
Qualification Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented or including post-secondary training in planning, public policy, transportation, or a related field.
  • Sound experience as a Planning Assistant II or equivalent work experience.
