Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Clinician/Behavioural Consultant to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary mental health team, you will provide case management, applied behavioural analysis, individual/group counselling services, and consultation to clients with concurrent developmental disability/psychiatric disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct functional assessments, gather relevant psychosocial history, and conduct in vivo behavioural observation.
  • Analyze and synthesize data gathered and develop behavioural intervention plans.
  • Provide training regarding behavioural plans and interventions to family-members and caregivers where appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver time-limited, evidence-based individual and group counselling using techniques appropriate for individuals living with developmental disability/psychiatric disorders.
  • Collaborate with other team members in preparing for, participating in, and contributing to, initial psychiatric assessment; assessing clients' progress; follows up on the implementation and re-evaluation of behavioural strategies with interdisciplinary team members, as well as members of the client's support network.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Counselling/Psychology, Social Work, or other relevant health-related discipline.
  • Two years recent experience providing direct behavioural therapy and counselling support to children or adults with mental illness or developmental disability, inclusive of one year of independent (post-Masters) practice, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Eligible for registration with relevant professional association.
