About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and physically fit Snow Shoveler to join our team at Green Prairie Landscaping Inc. as a Landscape Maintenance Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring our clients' properties are well-maintained and safe during the winter months.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Landscape Constructions: Assist our team in constructing and maintaining beautiful landscapes for our clients.
  • Weed, Prune and Trim Trees and Plants: Maintain the health and appearance of trees and plants on our clients' properties.
  • Cut Grass: Ensure lawns are well-manicured and look their best.
  • Rake and Collect Refuse: Keep our clients' properties clean and free of debris.
  • Remove Litter and Garbage: Ensure our clients' properties are free of litter and garbage.
  • Lay Sod or Seed: Assist in the installation of new sod or seeding of lawns.
  • Water and Tend to Plants, Lawns and/or Gardens: Ensure our clients' plants, lawns, and gardens receive the necessary care.
  • Operate and Maintain Landscape Maintenance Equipment: Operate and maintain equipment necessary for landscape maintenance.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoors.
  • Work Setting: Landscape contractor, various locations.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Pick-up truck, small engine equipment, weed trimmer/edger.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, combination of sitting, standing, walking.
  • Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, gloves.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Language of Work: English.
  • Hours of Work: 10 to 50 hours per week.
