Downtown Maintenance & Cleanliness Team MemberWe are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Enviro team as a Downtown Maintenance & Cleanliness Team Member. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our downtown's public and private spaces.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of downtown areas by collecting litter, sweeping, removing snow, and clearing debris from sidewalks, parks, and other public spaces.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of bus shelters and bus stop areas, including removing debris and performing routine maintenance.
- Operate a Kubota to assist with litter removal and general cleanup tasks throughout the downtown area.
- Handle bio-hazard cleanups and removals in accordance with safety protocols.
- Remove unauthorized posters from designated areas as requested.
- Provide support with the transportation, cleaning, repair, and installation of public realm infrastructure.
- Assist with event setup and teardown activities.
- Offer information and directions to the public when needed.
- Report any maintenance safety concerns related to sidewalks, streets, public infrastructure, and private property.
- Maintain accurate records of daily maintenance activities.
- Prior experience in grounds maintenance is an asset.
- A strong understanding of safe work procedures and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions year-round. You may be required to work days, evenings, and weekends. The position involves standing or walking for extended periods and navigating uneven terrain. You must be physically capable of performing the duties, including shoveling, bending, reaching, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
