Aviva Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Commercial Lines Property and Casualty (P&C) Underwriter to join our Small Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance business unit in Ottawa. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for underwriting new business and servicing a substantial portfolio of commercial P&C accounts. Your expertise will be essential in assessing and evaluating risk, applying corporate underwriting standards, and analyzing reports to determine adequate exposure and loss rating. You will also be expected to maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels, and policy form amendments, and utilize loss control and risk management practices in the underwriting process. Additionally, you will develop and maintain excellent broker relationships and provide exceptional customer service. To be successful in this role, you will require 1-3 years of commercial P&C underwriting experience, a strong understanding of underwriting principles, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
