About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our fine dining restaurant operations at Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service standards, achieving operational objectives, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve high service standards and exceed guest expectations
  • Recruit, select, orient, assign, schedule, and review staff to ensure effective human resources management
  • Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a positive and productive work environment
  • Prepare and complete action plans to achieve operational objectives and improve productivity, quality, and service standards
  • Collaborate with the Events and Private Dining team to ensure successful day-to-day operations of private dining events
  • Resolve associate and guest conflicts through service recovery and implement changes as necessary
  • Control costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation, minimizing waste
  • Estimate food and beverage consumption and place orders with suppliers
  • Maintain accurate budget and employee records
  • Prepare payroll and monitor records
  • Ensure compliance with company and government legislations to avoid legal challenges
  • Arrange for maintenance and repair of malfunctioned equipment
  • Develop and coach managers and employees through regular one-on-ones, training, and performance evaluations
  • Create an engaging and energetic work environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration
  • Develop and implement marketing initiatives to drive growth and restaurant sales
  • Conduct regular P&L reviews to analyze financial metrics and inform business decisions

Qualifications:

  • Over 3 years of experience in fine dining as a General Manager
  • Experience in a similar environment
  • Self-starter with flexibility and ability to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task and change priorities constantly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong business acumen and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to conduct written and verbal performance reviews
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Management, or equivalent
