Job Title: Assistant Store Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Farm Boy. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of the assigned store. This includes providing superior customer service, working with the Store Manager and Department Managers to execute strategies aimed at achieving financial results, and promoting company policy to ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to ensure a quality shopping experience for all customers.
- Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and Department Managers to develop and implement strategies to achieve sales and profitability goals.
- Lead and motivate the store team to achieve high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and merchandising to ensure optimal store presentation and sales.
- Participate in community events and promote Farm Boy's community presence.
- Support the Store Manager in the implementation of health and safety programs and act on recommendations made by the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Requirements:
- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in retail, preferably in the perishable food industry.
- Successful completion of a Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve plus Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or the commitment to complete within 6 months.
- Good knowledge of retail industry, food products, and superior standards of quality.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
- Experience in working with various computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.
Work Environment:
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Required to stand and walk for long periods of time during shift.
- Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects.
- Required to adapt to temperature changes on occasion (working on the retail floor as well as in coolers and freezers).
