Job Title: Director, Financial Reporting

Job Summary:

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Director, Financial Reporting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, including the preparation and publication of financial statements, management's discussion and analysis, and regulatory filings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Manage the end-to-end delivery of annual financial reporting, including financial statements and notes, for external and internal reporting.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Regulatory Filings: Prepare and analyze internal management reporting, as well as regulatory financial reporting to FSRA and statutory filings as required.
  • Financial Presentations: Prepare and coordinate various Disclosure Committee and Audit Committee materials, as well as financial presentations with a keen sense of detail and clarity.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement strong internal processes and controls within the team and with key stakeholders to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.
  • Accounting Standards: Stay up-to-date with accounting standards development for pension plans in Canada, International Financial Reporting Standards, and regulatory standards published by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).
  • Control Framework: Develop and oversee the control framework for the company aligned with the enterprise risk management framework.
  • Internal Controls: Lead the design and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting and evolve the framework as the company grows.

Requirements:

  • Professional Accounting Designation: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in financial reporting, with a strong background in pension industry, financial institution, or public accounting firm.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, or business administration.
