Medical Laboratory Technologist

Job Summary
North York General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our dynamic team in the Cytogenetics Laboratory. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures with accuracy and precision, while maintaining a high level of productivity and competence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform established routine and specialized Cytogenetics laboratory procedures as required
- Review, record, accurately report, and check test results in a timely manner
- Recognize abnormal or unusual lab results and take appropriate action according to protocol
- Identify technical or quality process problems and take appropriate corrective action
- Understand and participate in quality control, quality assurance, and the quality management system
- Understand, follow, and ensure policies/processes/procedures are in compliance with laboratory accreditation requirements
- Work safely in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Member of CMLTO or eligible for registration in Genetics (Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics)
- Experience in Cytogenetics an asset
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset
