About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Services team, you will work with children and adolescents up to the 19th birthday, providing assessment and treatment for mental health or concurrent disorders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual, family-based, or group therapy sessions
  • Supervising case managers and behavioral interventionists
  • Creating and delivering evidence-based educational presentations to clients, families, and staff members
  • Participating in grand rounds presentations

You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including psychology, social work, psychiatry, addiction clinical therapists, and behavioral interventionists, to provide comprehensive care to our clients.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work, with a specialization in a clinical or mental health stream. You must be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work and have two years of clinical experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting.

You should possess strong assessment, intervention, and research skills, as well as specialized knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders. Competence in evidenced-based interventions such as CBT and risk assessment is also essential.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours biweekly. The hourly rate is $37.31-$49.05.
