Healthcare Social Worker

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Health Care Social Worker to join our team. As a Health Care Social Worker, you will provide a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families, enabling them to achieve their optimal level of functioning and health.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychosocial assessments and providing adjustment therapy, supportive therapy, crisis counselling, resource counselling, and discharge planning and case management.
- Advocating, educating, and collaborating with individuals and groups within the institution and community.
- Working autonomously and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Social Work Degree from an accredited university, current registration and membership in the Nova Scotia Association of Social Workers and Canadian Association of Social Workers, and two years of clinical experience as a Registered Social Worker.
We are looking for a candidate with strong counselling and communication skills, the capacity to achieve a high degree of autonomous practice, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context.
Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French preferred.

Hours and CompensationThis is a long-assignment full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. The hourly rate is $37.31 - $49.05.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
