Healthcare Social Worker

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Social Worker, you will work with children and adolescents up to the 19th birthday, providing assessment and treatment for mental health or concurrent disorders. You will be part of a multi-discipline service that includes psychology, social work, psychiatry, addiction clinical therapists, and behavioral interventionists. Your responsibilities may include supervising case managers and behavioral interventionists, creating and providing evidence-based educational presentations, and working flexibly to meet the needs of clients and the service.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work, with a specialization in a clinical or mental health stream. You should be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work and have two years of clinical experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting. You should also have competence in assessment, intervention, and research, as well as specialized knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders. Knowledge of psychotropic pharmacology and competencies in other languages are assets.
Hours and CompensationThis is a long-assignment full-time position, with 75 hours biweekly. The hourly rate is $37.31 - $49.04. Successful candidates may be eligible for a benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
