Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Agricultural Economics to join our Consulting – Economics team. As a trusted advisor, you will lead the proposal, planning and delivery of Agriculture research projects, develop innovative methodologies and models, and manage engagement planning and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of Agriculture research projects, including economic impact studies, cost-benefit studies and market studies for clients in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.
  • Develop innovative methodologies and models for undertaking economic analysis following best practices.
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
  • Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop.
  • Review, design and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations and other correspondence.
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client's business.
  • Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
  • Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in Agricultural Economics.
  • CMC, PMP or other related certifications are considered an asset.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience, ideally in a client-service environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of quantitative economic methods and data analysis.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstration of advanced project management skills and tactics.
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Established network within the Canadian agricultural community.
