Executive Director of Indigenous Economic Prosperity

Job Summary: We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the Executive Director of the National Indigenous Economic Prosperity Institute (NIEPI). The successful candidate will play a critical role in advancing economic reconciliation and prosperity for Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
About the Role: The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and direction to NIEPI, working closely with the President and Senior Management to advance the organization's mission and vision. Key responsibilities include:
- Advocating for economic reconciliation and prosperity for Indigenous Peoples
- Leading the development and implementation of NIEPI's strategic plan
- Managing the NIEPI budget and resources
- Providing leadership and direction to NIEPI staff
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to advance economic reconciliation and prosperity
Requirements: To be successful in this role, the Executive Director must have:
- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Business, Commerce, Social Sciences, Data Science)
- At least nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in leadership, administration, research management, preferably in a related industry
- Strong understanding of Indigenous economies, business, and entrepreneurial histories and current landscape
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications: An understanding of the unique relationship between the First Nations University of Canada and the University of Regina, as well as the ability to speak a First Nations Language, would be assets.
