Academic Department Director

As an Academic Department Manager at VCC, you will play a key role in maintaining this commitment by delivering high-quality instruction and supporting the development of program content guides.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain an appropriate quality of instruction to ensure student success.
- Develop Program Content Guides that meet the needs of visually impaired students.
- Aid in placing graduates in employment opportunities that leverage their skills and qualifications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Adult Education, Special Education, the Humanities or Natural Sciences.
- Completion of Certificate in contracted and uncontracted Braille or equivalent.
- Experience instructing adults with varying levels of visual impairment.
- Proficiency in using current technology, including Microsoft Office, to deliver instruction and support student learning.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students, staff, and community partners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Familiarity with accessibility technologies and tools, including Braille writers, CCTV magnifiers, and refreshable Braille displays.
- Master's Degree with an emphasis on adult or special education.
- Experience instructing adult learners in online environments.
- Proficiency in Unified English Braille Code (UEBC).
The estimated salary for this position is approximately $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
