**Job Overview**

We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Director to lead our team at the Association of Academic Museums & Galleries. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing our artistic vision and strategic planning.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with staff and board members to drive our organization's growth and success. You will be responsible for fundraising, grant writing, and developing partnerships within local, national, and international arts communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee fundraising and develop comprehensive fund development plans
  • Collaborate with program curators on artistic vision and strategy
  • Facilitate strategic planning and policy development
  • Manage and maintain heritage buildings and administer lease agreements
  • Foster partnerships within arts communities
  • Hire, supervise, and mentor staff
  • Attend Board meetings and provide administrative support

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven leadership experience in art or cultural centers
  • Excellent knowledge of contemporary art, music, and literary practices
  • Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Ability to foster a healthy collegial working environment
  • Experience with budget preparation and financial management
  • Previous history of successful grant writing and fundraising experience

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000-$65,000 per annum, 4 weeks' vacation, and a comprehensive benefits package.
