The Vice-President, Academic + Provost plays a pivotal role in leading the university's academic initiatives, ensuring excellence in trans-disciplinary, inclusive, and socially engaged art and design education and research. This strategic position supports the university's commitments to sustainability, diversity, decolonization, and Indigenization, and promotes continued vitality and excellence in academic programming and research.
Reporting to the President, the successful candidate will provide visionary leadership and management to all academic areas, including the Ian Gillespie Faculty of Design and Dynamic Media, the Audain Faculty of Art, the Faculty of Culture and Community, and the Jake Kerr Faculty of Graduate Studies, as well as Continuing Studies and the University library.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement academic strategic plans, policies, and procedures
- Led academic curriculum development and review initiatives
- Provide leadership and support to faculty and staff in their teaching and research endeavors
**Requirements and Qualifications:**
- A terminal degree in a relevant field (e.g., PhD or MFA)
- Proven leadership experience in post-secondary education, preferably in an administrative role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated expertise in art, design, media studies, and creative industries
