Job Overview:

The Child and Family Counsellor will ensure the current developmental, treatment, and psycho-social needs of children, youth, and families are met by actively participating in assessment and treatment under the direction of the SNAP Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the provision of assessment and treatment services
  • Develop treatment plans tailored to individual strengths and needs
  • Liaise with child welfare, schools, police, and other community partners
  • Work collaboratively with families to address problem behaviours and emotional difficulties

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum two-year Human Services Diploma is required
  • Two or more years experience in counselling services to Anishinabek children, youth, and families
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Search and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to First Nations communities
