We are seeking a dedicated worker to join our team at the Ontario Native Women's Association.
Job OverviewThe ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to work with diverse communities. Our organization is committed to supporting Indigenous women and children who have experienced family violence, and we require a compassionate and professional individual to assist us in this critical work.
Responsibilities- Cultivate trusting relationships with Indigenous women and their families, providing emotional support and guidance during times of crisis.
- Develop and implement personalized plans to address the unique needs of each client, focusing on safety, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
- Liaise with service providers, community organizations, and government agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
- Promote holistic approaches to addressing family violence, emphasizing the importance of cultural sensitivity and understanding.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories, as well as experience working with Indigenous communities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions to complex problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using database management software an asset.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $$63,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
