We are seeking a dedicated worker to join our team at the Ontario Native Women's Association.

Job Overview

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate trusting relationships with Indigenous women and their families, providing emotional support and guidance during times of crisis.
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to address the unique needs of each client, focusing on safety, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
  • Liaise with service providers, community organizations, and government agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Promote holistic approaches to addressing family violence, emphasizing the importance of cultural sensitivity and understanding.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and histories, as well as experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective solutions to complex problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using database management software an asset.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $$63,000 per annum, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
