Job Overview:

Northwest Employment Works is seeking a skilled Child and Youth Counsellor to provide assessment, treatment, and case management services for children, youth, and families. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the social, emotional, and physical well-being of our clients.

About the Role:

This full-time position involves providing counselling services, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each child, youth, and family. You will also be responsible for coordinating integrated services delivery from assessment to discharge, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of children, youth, and families to identify their developmental, treatment, and psycho-social needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the complex needs of each client
  • Provide one-on-one counselling sessions, group therapy, and family sessions as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support and service coordination
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on client progress and treatment plans

Requirements:

  • A minimum HBSW or related degree is required
  • Two or more years of experience in counselling services to Anishinabek children, youth, and families is preferred
  • Candidates without specific education qualifications but possessing an appropriate combination of experience and academic qualifications will also be considered
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Search, including Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Counselling and Clinical Support Services Manager
  • Class "G" Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory
  • Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate is recommended
  • Able to complete and maintain certification in CANS and other relevant Ministry of Children and Youth Services initiatives
