Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tactical Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will provide emergency medical care and support to members of the public and OPP members at tactical incidents.

This is a temporary position with the possibility of extension, located in Orillia, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have strong medical background, be accustomed to working in a pre-hospital environment, and be able to perform medical acts with a physician's order.

About the Role

The Medics will continue to be employed as full-time paramedics with their own municipal ambulance services, and will be available to the OPP on an on-call basis when off duty. They must reside within 60 minutes of the tactical team to which they are assigned.

  • Provide emergency medical care and support to members of the public and OPP members at tactical incidents.
  • Work in a pre-hospital environment, performing medical acts with a physician's order.
  • Be available on-call basis when off duty, residing within 60 minutes of the tactical team.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must:

  • Hold current certification as an Advanced Care Paramedic according to the Ambulance Act of Ontario.
  • Maintain an emergency patient care role at their EMS service.
  • Be licensed as an Advanced Care Paramedic and currently employed as a full-time Advanced Care Paramedic with an ambulance service in Ontario.
  • Pass physical fitness testing.
  • Be available to respond to calls for service within 60 minutes (average 2 per month).
  • Be available on-call basis 24/7 when off duty.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
